Privacy notice.
KinLogs is built so that we never see what you put in it. This notice covers the few things we do handle: the Register interest form, emails you send us, and KinLogs Sync if you choose it.
Who we are

What's in your KinLogs
We never receive it. Your KinLogs file is encrypted on your memory stick and opened on your own computer. We can't see it, and we have no copy. If you use KinLogs Sync, we store an encrypted copy that we cannot read, because we never have your password or key.
Registering interest
When you register interest, we collect your name, email address, the kit you're interested in, whether you're interested in KinLogs Sync, and the time you registered.
- Why: to email you when kits go on sale. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give with the tick box.
- Where it goes: the form emails your details to our info@kinlogs.co.uk mailbox. Nothing is saved on the website. Our website and email are hosted by IONOS.
- How long: until kits go on sale and we've emailed you, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever is sooner.
- Sharing: we never sell or share your details.
KinLogs Sync
If you buy KinLogs Sync, we hold your Sync code, the encrypted copies of your file, a list of your linked sticks, a check value made from your security answers (not the answers themselves), and the dates of your subscription. These are stored with Google Cloud in London. For security, the service also records the internet (IP) address used for each Sync request, to spot misuse and limit repeated attempts; these records are kept for no more than [30 days]. We use all of this only to run and protect the service. If you stop Sync, you can delete the online copy, and we delete the rest when your subscription ends.
Emails you send us
We use them to reply to you, and keep them only as long as we need to.
This website
The website uses no tracking, no advertising cookies and no analytics. The form keeps a short-lived, scrambled note of how often each visitor has sent it, to stop spam. That note can't be traced back to you and is deleted within an hour.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you, or withdraw your consent at any time, by emailing info@kinlogs.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
